Description: Here is an excellent specimen with Alkali rich, Caesium bearing Beryl, sometimes called Vorobyevite, or Rosterite, but to be honest these names and varietal names have changed multiple times over the years. Most correctly you should probably cal this alkali rich Beryl ,which makes it a variety of Beryl, but not it's own mineral.. from the Karan Wa Munjal district, but most often Deo Darrah is mentioned a an Afghanistani locality for this style of Beryl. This piece originates from the earlier finds, not long after this spectacular discovery was made. Most of these Beryl crystals, although very blue, distinguish themselves from 'regular" Auqamarine, as almost all of these Beryl crystals appear to be tabular in shape, have jagged edges, and show interesting zoning, with a dark blue zone in the center, and a lighter color of blue on the outer zone. The piece here has multiple of these excellent crystals, nicely isolated on the matrix. Just a really good specimen of this rare variety of Beryl. Sure, larger crystals of this Beryl have occasionally been found in the region(usually fetching high prices..), but as a matrix piece, this is excellent was well, with the best crystals you can imagine for this variey. This specimen is 120 grams, or 4 1/4 oz. The size is 3 inch x 2 inch x 1.5 inch. Please be advised I ship with Ground Advantage.
