Physically, this Alienware is in near-mint condition. The only minor signs of wear are a small split and slight stickiness to the hinge cover and two minor indentations to the plastic keyboard surround trim. A small tab on the rearward case has been repaired. The computer has many brand new genuine Alienware parts installed and still covered with factory plastic covers to protect the soft-touch coating throughout the laptop. Functionally, the laptop is in near-perfect condition. The optical drive has been removed from the computer due to a commonly broken ribbon latch and an optical drive will not be able to be re-installed for this reason. Plan ahead to use a USB optical drive or disc drive emulation software. The CPU and GPU have been refreshed with high quality Honeywell PTM7950 thermal interface material for significantly improved thermal performance and reliability. A new aftermarket replacement battery has been installed but battery life and usage time may differ when compared to an original manufacturer battery. The internal storage has been upgraded to a 250GB solid state drive for greatly improved speed and responsiveness. A fresh installation of Alienware-branded Windows 7 Home Premium with Service Pack 1 has been pre-installed along with critical system drivers, Windows updates and the latest available NVIDIA drivers for easy setup.
