Description: Alfredo Villasana Mexican Modernist Silver Bracelet
By Alfredo Villasana
Alfredo Villasana was a highly regarded silversmith who worked for William
Spratling and Héctor Aguilar in Taxco during the 1930s and 1940s. He went out on
his own in the 1950s.
The Hallmark reads: "Sterling 925", a very tiny square shaped (Hallmark?) "Taxco
Mexico" "VILLASANA".
This gorgeous bracelet is masterfully crafted.....A cross between 1950s stylized
Modernism and Art Deco, an elegant, dimensional, raised geometric motif....Its
just an exquisite design!
This vintage Mexican bracelet is extremely well made; it is a sophisticated,
classic modernist design.
The width of the braclet is 2-1/2" closed, 7/8" at the widest point, 1/4" thick
at the center of the front at it's thickest point.
Its in fine condition, and could be polished to a brilliant shine if the new
owner prefers that look. This has not been polished.
