Description: I am the original designer of the AL12 series of amplifiers. This is my newer design of the AL12 step start system. This is CTR Engineering part number UNSS-AL12. Step Start installation in the AL12 series amplifiers is very simple. This unit can mount with supplied good 3M tape or by a screw through the back panel. This direct current relay unit will directly replace the noisy AC relay that is prone to chatter and hum in MFJ/Ameritron AL12 series units. This is a 120Vac trigger, but the UNSS is also available in any trigger voltage from 12Vdc to 120Vdc, or 12Vac to 250Vac. We successfully install the UNSS in amplifiers from Amp Supply and Dentron to homebrew systems. This unit is also available as part of a bundle. The bundle of filter capacitor bank, rectifier, and UNSS-AL12 is either listed now or will be listed shortly on eBay.
