Akai AA-R40 stereo receiver

Description: Here is a great working Akai AA-R40 vintage stereo receiver. Replaced all dial lamps. I do not use LED's, dont like the look of them. cleaned all controls. All are working as they should. I also recapped the power supply board. All but the 2 main filter caps. They checked perfect. I also resoldered the whole board. There are were some loose connections from heat over the years. 100% working. This would be a great receiver that has plenty of power and options. I do not state every last scratch on the unit. That is why I put close up pics in the listing. so please look close at all pics. I also had to glue the front clear plastic in the left side. Couldnt fine another one. You will see the line on the dial scale on the left . goes at a slight angle and about 1 inch long. Just the clear plastic. You might not see it and does not effect the scale. The case is metal and there some scratches here and there. I took close ups of the front for you to see. The am ant was also broken off. Could not find that one either but did retro fit a Pioneer am ant that is working. May not be perfect but does pull in am stations. Since I am not in your area. No promises on the AM. Since this is 40 plus years old. There is no warranty but I do promise not to be doa. It will work when you get it and will be well packed, To much time in this to let someone destroy it in shipping. So it will be well packed with plenty of packing and new double wall box. Please ask questions before you buy, make sure this is what your looking for. The receiver is about 25 lbs. I do add security tape to the unit to prevent parts being taken out. If seal on the tape is broken, no refund at all. Parts or repair only. Sorry, do have to protect myself and the unit. The dial pointer light changes colors when on a station. You will notice that in the pics. Took pics of it on station and off. But I went to school for electronics back in 83 and got a diploma in it and that is what my normal 8 – 5 job is, and have also a personal complete electronics shop with all the test equipment. I am not someone that picked up a soldering iron one day on eBay or read the internet and all of a sudden I am an expert. Its also not what my dad did but what I do. Not living off someone else's credit but It’s what I do for a living. I have been to schools for all the major brands and authorized for most right now.
