Description: This is an Aires Viscount rangefinder camera. It has a fast high quality 45mm f/1.9 lens. Also included is the original box (showing some wear), ever-ready case, neck strap in unopened wrapper, instruction manual, and warranty card. The case has a short wrist strap on it. The neck strap is included you wish to use it. The case and te camera are in Excellent Plus condition, showing few signs of use. The shutter sounds correct at both slow and fast speeds, The glass is free of haze oil and fungus. The viewfinder shows the field for an auxiliary 80mm telephoto lens in addition to the standard 45mm lens, using red and yellow frames to highlight the coverage. The rangefinder spot is clear with excellent contrast. The 80mm lens is frequently available on eBay. Aires was a well-respected camera manufacturer in the 1960's. It specialized in rangefinder cameras of high quality and fast lenses. The camera is heavy, mostly metal and glass with few plastic parts. I am selling the cameras and photo equipment I have collected over the past fifty years. They have not been film tested but appear to function correctly (film winds on, shutter fires, f/stops change, focus works). Shutter speeds sound approximately correct to my ear but speeds have not been electronically tested. I have disclosed any problems that I am aware of and have tried to act like a fussy sharp-eyed buyer in evaluating the cameras and lenses. The items have been stored in an air-conditioned non-smoking home. Remember that many of these items are classics, over forty years old, and inevitably will show some wear and signs of age.
