Description: Aioli Dinner by George Rodrigue originally painted in 1971. Direct Image Transfer. This is a direct image transfer of Aioli Dinner by the noted artist George Rodrigue. Originally painted in 1971, Aioli Dinner, was the first painting of relatives of the Artist who would gather each month on the grounds of different plantations. Rodrigue worked on the one painting for 6 months and thereafter began documenting the history of the Cajun people. These paintings ultimately led the Artist to create his amazingly successful Blue Dog paintings which achieved worldwide acclaim. The original painting hangs in the Ogden Museum of Art in New Orleans. In the early 2000's, Rodrigue allowed a few direct image transfers of Aioli Dinner to be created. Direct Image Transfers were a precoursor to Giclees and were essentially an image recreated on a textured board that looks like canvas. These few were offered through his Gallery in New Orleans at $12,500.00 This piece was created for his top salesperson and was hand-signed in the lower left corner by Rodrigue.
