There is a patent date of April 28, 1874 stamped on the back of the bell plate. The bell plate measures 4 1/2" dia. (6"w including tabs for screws) x 2 1/2" projection and the ringer plate is 2 1/2"w x 5 ½"h x 1 ¾" projection. Great original patina too! This bell is fully functional.
