Description: The Afinia L301 label printer was a low volume, relatively low cost (I paid ~$2,400.00 four years ago) high quality printer producing smear proof labels (when used with correct ink and label types) using roll labels in sizes up to 6" wide. While the print does fade with aggressive solvents such as toluene, oils & alcohol leave the labels untouched for a long time. For my lubricating oils, which had a lot of smelly solvents in them, I covered the labels with clear tape made for the purpose to maintain easy ID. For the products I produced, I used glossy BOPP label stock in a variety widths and types (rectangle and round) which this printer handled easily and accurately. It is not a race horse making labels, but if you need 50-100 labels at a time, very high definition graphics and text will be made in full color in less than 10 minutes. The 'print engine' is borrowed from HP for long life and is used with Afinia's special inks divided between 'black' and 'three color cartridges'. I was surprised by the number of labels I printed from these cartridges in black and multi-color. Ink cartridges easily available from a variety of sources such as Texas Label. Comes with a power supply, manually roll unloader, and a variety of glossy BOPP labels to get you started. You will need to supply your own USB cable to your Windows computer.
