When using the ring holding arm, your saw will follow the slot as you cut ring shanks helping to keep rings from sliding on the bench pin while working. The recessed oval area in the center of the pin is made to hold findings, stones, or trimmings as you work. Slip the L-bracket through any of the three notches at the back of the bench pin and into the recessed area; then slide the bracket onto your work surface and tighten the clamp.
