Description: Offered for purchase is a square-shaped cut glass bowl from the American Brilliant Period. This bowl is a testament to the exceptional craftsmanship of American master glass cutters over a century ago. Unlike standard round bowls, this 9-inch bowl has folded sides, giving it a unique appearance. The bowl is divided by large miters into eight sections, which are decorated with hobstars and cross-hatch bow ties. Although it's not signed, the design is similar to several created by WC Anderson for the Libbey Cut Glass Co. such as the Iola pattern. It's common for competing companies to cut designs that mimic best sellers from others. The bowl measures 9 inches across point to point, 7 inches across at the sides, and 3 inches high. It's in excellent condition, with only a few nibbles to a base fan, as shown in the pictures. (2035)
