Author Biography Charles J. "Charlie" Jenkins was born in New Albany, Indiana, raised in Hamburg, and attended Providence High School in Clarksville. He spent a lifetime in radio broadcasting in southern Indiana and the metro-Louisville market, working in all facets of the industry, including station ownership, management, sales, news, sports, and on-air work. Known as the "voice of southern Indiana sports" for 54 years, Charlie often accompanied his "on air" presence with a sports-journalism career covering high school sports throughout Clark and Floyd counties. Compiling this history of the basketball program at Providence is a fitting climax to his lifelong sports reporting career. Raymond P. "Ray" Day was born and raised in New Albany, Indiana. As teacher, theatre director and development director at Providence, he continues to this day as the schools volunteer archivist. As a professional watercolorist and sculptor, his published prints and Lilliput Lane sculptures are collected worldwide. He revels in researching family genealogy and Providence history. He is the author of These Are The Good Old Days published in 2013 and available on Amazon.com.
