Description: GALSWORTHY, John. A Modern Comedy. London: Heinemann. 1929. 8vo. First edition. Publisher’s green cloth lettered in gilt to spine, in the rare dust jacket. The author’s second half of the Forsyte Chronicles, comprising three novels and two novellas, hence the density here. A near fine copy, the cloth clean and bright, the topstain vivid, the binding tight and square. The contents fine, light offsetting to endpapers. The dust jacket faded and discoloured at spine leading into front and rear panels. A couple of noticeable areas of loss to spine head and to rear panel bottom edge, corners and tips a trifle rubbed, but a handsome copy, especially at this price.
