A striking piece of conical form, this jug features a well executed version of Tinworth's "scrolling seaweed" to the central band, deeply incised and adorned with applied rosettes and beadwork borders. Above and below this are bands of stiff leaf decoration, while the jug is finished off with an applied Sterling Silver collar and spout. Stands at 10 " tall x 5 1/4 " across. Stamped Doulton Lambeth mark with the date 1878. Incised GT mark to the body, with assistants as shown. The silver is fully and correctly hallmarked.
