Description: Heading : A George II Double Series Air Twist Wine Glass Period : George II Origin : England Colour : Clear Bowl : Round funnel; pucella marks and touch points are evident Stem : mercury twist stem, a pair of spiral tapes around a pair of less-thick tapes which spiral together at a different pitch Foot : Conical Pontil : Snapped Glass Type : Lead Size : 16.1 cm height, 5.7 cm diameter bowl, 6.5 cm diameter foot Condition : Excellent, no chips, cracks or flakes; there are seveeral tiny inclusions to the bowl, a larger white pitted inclusion almost certainly calcined lime and manufacturing blemish near the base in the form of a 'dimple' in the glass, but as ever these are imperfections which add character rather than being unsightly. The air twists themselves are irregular in that one of the central pair becomes fused with an outer tape half way down the spine, and the other becomes progressively finer and finer until it fades to nothing 18mm above the foot Restoration : None Weight: 119 grams Ebay is a fantastic platform via which to communicate.
