I used this type of case/metal as thought it would be homage not just to the Pilots but also to the Aircraft itself, as the Spitfire was also made from Aluminium. Please Note, This watch is extremely light compared to stainless steel watches but.. Aluminium is extremely strong for its weight, anti magnetic & is also resistant to corrosion. Hence it was used to make the Spitfire With. You will be wearing the same as what was flying, so will understand how crucial it was to use a lightweight but strong material, this is also what made the Spitfire so successful and fast,. especially when turning.
