You're looking at a SUPERB overall condition book which is a collection of 20th Century letters from the Jewish Lower East Side of New York City to the Jewish Daily Forward column edited by ISAAC METZKER--the book is a collectible STATED FIRST EDITION and a HARDCOVER with the ORIGINAL DUSTJACKET and is NOT a remainder copy and NOT price-clipped, with the original $6.95 price on the upper edge of the front inner flap (the space next to the price is clipped). This book is in SUPERB overall condition and the book itself has very light dustwear and slight foxing on the page edges and an owner's name on the lower edge of the half title page but NO other significant flaws; the dustjacket has a slight abrasion on the upper right edge of the front surface, very light dings and tiny tears on the spine tips, a tiny ding on the upper left edge of the front surface, a clipped upper corner of the front inner flap and just very light shelfwear otherwise but no other significant flaws! The book is titled A Bintel Brief: Sixty Years of Letters from the Lower East Side to the Jewish Daily Forward and it was edited with an introduction by ISAAC METZKER and with a foreword and notes by HARRY GOLDEN; it was published by Doubleday & Company, Inc. in 1971 and is a STATED 1st EDITION copy.For more than eighty years the Jewish Daily Forward's legendary advice column, "A Bintel Brief" ("a bundle of letters") dispensed shrewd, practical, and fair-minded advice to its readers.
