Description: (MC) This washboard is from a house in Mauricetown, NJ, that was built in the 1860s. The house caught fire at one point and was vacant. This washboard was in that fire and survived as well as most of the house. The wood has lots of wear and tear. The metal board has a dent in it about 1/3rd of the way down. It has sooooo much character. This is why I'm putting it up for bid instead of in my antique shop. I wanted lots of people to see this piece. It's from the Columbus Washboard company in Columbus, Ohio.
