Description: I own an advertising specialty company - now in our 46th year I am happy to report - and worked in the industry for many years prior to establishing my own firm. Over the years I collected many over-run samples, one-or-a-kind spec samples and the like. I am now offering much of that collection via eBay. Among our suppliers of aluminum items, such as auto tags, parking signs, etc. was - and still is - an industry leader called Dixie Seal & Stamp - or as they were known in the industry, Dixieline. Dixie produced many specialty items for us, especially auto tags. All made in the U.S.A. Here is a sample I purchased many years ago to show clients in the hope of selling them a custom auto tag. Details: The plate is an embossed (3D) aluminum auto tag, size 6" X 12". It has four pre-drilled holes - ready to mount or display. It is still in the original factory cello wrap, hence the glare in my photos. As mentioned, rather than just being flat screen printed, the tag is stamped embossed in 3D, giving it more depth and a more striking appearance. Made in the U.S.A. It is in NEW condition. Or course, never used or displayed. Rather, it has been kept in a sealed container in one of our climate controlled sample rooms. This nice car tag recognizes the 618th Engineer Company / 82nd Airborne Division., and is quite striking. This handsome car tag prominently features the Airborne insignia along with the Engineer Castle. Also included in the design are the general Airborne logo and Company crest. Incidentally, I served in the Army Corps of Engineers. Although entering the service as a Private E-1, I eventually completed Engineer OCS at Fort Belvoir and received my commission. After a brief stint at Fort Riley, Kansas, I was deployed to Vietnam for a tour. In country I served as a Combat Engineer Platoon Leader for all of my tour except for three weeks as Company Executive Officer just prior to DEROS. My unit was the 39th Combat Engineer Battalion based in Chu Lai. I still keep in touch with several fellows from that "wonderful all expenses paid vacation in beautiful Southeast Asia". And the Colonel who pinned my First Lieutenant bars on in country is still alive, and an amazing individual. I like the Company description as "Nasty", and the slogan..."I Maintain The Right". Our slogan was "Fight - Build - And Destroy! It will be well packaged with lots of cardboard support to insure safe arrival. What an unusual find - especially in NEW condition!
