Description: Colorful 6'3" x 9'4" ft clean hand knotted authentic vintage worn Heriz rug (early to mid 1900s estimate Heriz ). The rug has been professionally cleaned. No stains, tears, holes, animal or smoke. This special carpet is made of the fine lamb wool and natural vegetable dyes by skilled crafts people from a bygone era of quality. Double tied knots upon two foundation layers for another century of durability. There is antique wear or low pile over the century; buy if ok and wanting authentic at a fair price with long term utility, value. Rich spectrum of red from pomegranate madder root and vermilion, dark to light blue from indigo grape lilac hyacinth and centaurea cyanus, brown earths, wheats and tans from larkspur and weld. Natural dyes oxidize over the century giving light and dark shades of each color called 'abrash' by curators, giving lots of tone nuance. From my personal collection. See all 22 images. #6316prom6
