It should be known that that there needs to be a layer or wash between the silver to adhere the Rhodium without damage to the silver. This wash is often attracted to a magnet. Sometimes slightly on heavy silver pieces and more strongly on the delicate pieces. The metal Rhodium is more valuable than the silver, so it is not a devalued piece unless you just do not like the 'Bright' finish. Rhodium is also used on white gold; but the gold does not need that protective layer to prevent damage from the plating process.
