54 GI Joe Photos WW2 Occupation Italy Circa 1945 Soldier's Personal Snapshot Lot

Description: This is a lot of 54 snapshots taken by a soldier around 1945. One is of what may be a girlfriend that is backstamped July 1945. Two seem to be parade marches on an American street and the rest are showing previous battlefields, ruins, wreckage, equipment, soldiers and places. Several annotated snaps do say "Italy," some images are of the Italian Alps, snow and also palm trees so there are several clues pointing to the occupation of Italy since there are no indications of ongoing fighting with what may be a few exceptions. You will have to use the photos themselves for clues and decide yourself about where they may have been taken and when they may have been taken. All of the photos have been scanned at 300 dpi so they can be enlarged. None have been tweaked in any way and they are shown exactly as they are so image quality is as shown. There is a series that is sequentially numbered and annotated so we have included images of those backs. While all of the photo paper is not backstamped approximately half are very faintly marked "VELOX" indicating paper that was manufactured between the 1920's up to the late 1940's. Lot includes 17 snaps approximately 2.75" x 4.5", 27 snaps approximately 2.5" 3.5" and 10 snaps approximately 2.5" x 4".
