Description: Here is a Limited 1977 Collection of Five Sketches by Kenneth Harkless of the First Passenger Carrying Boats on Nine Mile Lake, Turkey Lake, and now Wawasee. The boats were powered by steam, using wood and coal for fuel. Each set of five sketches was serially numbered and made available by the State Bank of Syracuse (IN). Each of the sketches is signed by Kenneth Harkless and numbered 660 of 1000. The sketches come in the original envelope (titled “Reminiscing by Ken Harkless”) that shows the artist’s image beside a short biography and description of the boats. The names of the ships are: (1) Modac; (2) Gazelle; (3) Anna Jones; (4) American Girl; and (5) Iva. The sketches are all in VERY GOOD CONDITION (close to “Like New”), with no apparent flaws. The collection was passed down by my father-in-law, who lived in Bourbon (IN) near Syracuse. I found only one other similar limited-edition collection available online.
