Description: Antique Briar SCYTHE, wood & steel, listed price or best offer (OBO). Bought by me in 2006 on eBay from a seller in Illinois, for use in my Grim Reaper / Death costume. I can make more exact measurements on request, but the scythe is around 5 feet tall / long, and has a 25-inch blade. The blade is no longer sharp, so it's safe to walk around with in costume. Due to this antique item's age and history of use, the hardware is no longer 100% tight (e.g. the handles wiggle slightly), but it's still as tight as it was when I got it, and it worked well for me. I wouldn't recommend trying to do any harvesting, briar-cutting, or hitting of things with the scythe, nor would I recommend swinging it around super-violently, but structural integrity should be good otherwise. I believe the original seller mailed me the scythe in a custom L-shaped box, rather than taking the blade off for shipping, and I currently plan to do the same. I'll let you know if you're going to need to screw it back together. While I've owned the scythe, it's been stored in a clean, non-smoking, 1-person, no-pets household (and my storage units). The other Grim Reaper costume items pictured are not for sale, although I will be listing a bunch more Halloween costume pieces, decorations, and art, once I get a chance to sort through my storage unit some more. Local pickup only. Buyer will need to pick up the scythe at my storage unit at U-Haul in Lake Forest (not far off the 5's El Toro Rd. exit).
