Description: Up for sale is a check from the Buffalo Tigers, a member of the short-lived American Football League. The check is made out to Tigers center/guard Joseph Ratica. It is a GAME check for the November 2, 1941 game against the Columbus Bulls. Ratica played college football for St. Vincent College (Latrobe, PA). He played NFL football for the Brooklyn Dodgers. He also played for the Boston Bears (AFL) & Wilmington Clippers (AA). This is one of the last three checks of Ratica that I have left. There were only six originally discovered. Ratica endorsed the check on the reverse. Tigers GM Fiore Cesare signed the check. Condition: Light vertical wallet folds - otherwise brilliant. The autograph is very good looking and has no bank holes. The league only lasted a couple of years making memorabilia from these teams pretty scarce. Always happy to combine shipping!!!
