Description: Back in the late 1940's into the early 1950's, a lot of engineering work was dedicated to the application of free piston or gas turbine engines. GE developed a locomotive, EMD researched and then declined to build a locomotive, etc. All that being said, many learned industry leaders were asked to address the subject. This file folder assembled a series of presentations given by Lima-Hamilton Corporation. There are a total of 19 single sided pages and the theme is to present the plus side of developing a free piston or gas turbine engine for industrial applications. Only a handful of these were printed and I'm guessing very few survived. In like new condition. It's interesting to note the different sides of the argument regarding this prime mover. We know GE embraced it and there were others overseas who also developed it. We also know that EMD rejected it. Neat to see the opposing side of the argument. Been stored in a folder inside a file cabinet for decades. Just started going through my extensive collection in anticipation of a move. I have a number of other related gas turbine free piston papers that will be listed separately. Will ship USPS with full insurance.
