Description: 4 Vintage FEDERAL White Milk Glass Pedestal 6oz Dessert Custard Cups, USA Nostalgic vintage made with quality in the USA by Federal Glass Company. Nice white milk glass with clean lines creating a contemporary style. Federal Glass Company was established in1900 by the Beatty family; then merged with Federal Paper Board in 1958; and ultimately closed in 1979. The “F inside a shield” logo was first used by Federal Glass Company in 1932, according to the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office records, but as researcher and author Marg Iwen reported in her article on Federal, the mark is shown in catalogs as early as 1927. Some sources say the “F in a shield” seems to have been used all the way up to 1979 when the factory closed down production.
