Please soak their roots in cold water for 12 hours immediately upon receipt. The plants included will have adequate root development for transplanting into a larger pot or directly into the ground. Trifoliate oranges are the hardiest of all the citrus and are best used for ornamental purposes and/or juicing since they are very sour. Citrumelos are hybrids between a grapefruit and trifoliate orange. Citrandarins are hybrids between a mandarin and trifoliate orange. These hybrids taste much like grapefruit and mandarin, but with a more complex and sour flavor. Taiwanica lemon/Nansho Daidai and Yuzu lemon are high quality lemon substitutes. They can withstand cold temperatures that would kill a Eureka Lemon tree. Rangpur limes are the least cold hardy of the bunch but they are the cold hardiest lime substitute we have available.
