Description: Ok here are some interesting FACTS about that particular Double Rampant Lion Shield mark on the bottom of pieces like these. Be careful when looking at this mark. It LOOKS like an old English mark, but is slightly different. Experts are looking hard into this because pieces with this mark are not showing any signs of age. They have found that an Italian furniture company (remains nameless) who makes reproductions of furniture and other reproduced interior accessories including fine china, is using this mark to make their items be attractive to Old English style fine china. So these are actually modern reproductions (and the change slightly in the style of the mark with no city or company attribution on it) are made to look old types of pieces (imported from China) which are made from 1990-present. They are very GOOD quality pieces and are causing quite a problem when uninformed dealers attribute them to OLD ENGLISH marks. So that being said, in full disclosure, this is a beautiful set of modern reproduction fine china done in a Victorian redware style. I belive it to be a large covered sugar bowl, or candy dish with a lid, and a matching underplate. The underplate measures approx 5-3/8" x 6-3/16" and is about 5/8" tall. The container is approx. 3.25" tall to top of lid to the bottom of its foot, and is approx 5.75" wide Handle to handle. The entire piece sits at about 4-3/8" tall, tabletop to top of lid when sitting on the underplate. All of my vintage or pre-owned items are sold AS IS, with no refunds or returns.
