The obverse features the "XXXI" year of sobriety on the obverse along with the words "To Thine Own Self Be True," found in Shakespeare's Hamlet (Act 1, scene 3, 78–82), a motto that those endeavoring for sobriety know well. In addition to the three legacies triangle with "Unity Service Recovery". The reverse displays the AA Serenity Prayer: the refrain of AA's sobriety 12-step program.
