Exterior: bindings are clean and square. Cloth spines with paper over the boards. Volume I has cracked hinges. Light scratches on the right side, front cover, of volume III. Some wear of the corners and spine ends. Gilt text front and spine. The gilt on the spine has dulled on volumes I and III. Interior: volumes I and III have an inscription on the front free endpaper signed by the author. Volume II has a news article about the book pasted to the front pastedown, price in pencil top of front free endpaper, and a small bookseller label bottom of back pastedown. Volume III has a small bookstore label bottom of front free endpaper. Pages are clean with no tears, creasing, or other handwriting. Many foldout maps.
