Description: Offered here is a set of three Vintage Mexican blackware grill (or divided) plates with finely painted Scenes of Mexican Rural Life. San Pedro Tlaquepaque or Tonala, Jalisco, c. 1930-40's, the plates have a fantastic black background with a touch of iridescence. In fact, these were hard to photograph as the glaze is so glossy. Each plate features different, finely detailed, unique scenes of bucolic life in Old Mexico. The bottoms of the plates are stamped "Made in Mexico." Condition is good vintage condition with some manufacturing irregularities (including the fingerprints of the artist on the back of one plate) a few minor scratches and there are a few small flakes on the rim of one plate, (please see photos) They display wonderfully, and would be a terrific asset for any decorative scheme. Every effort is made to disclose condition via photos, please see images and request any additional images you may need. Vintage and Antique items are old and used so they may show wear and/or manufacturers imperfections. These items are sold in as-is condition. Colors may appear slightly different due to the nature of color variation from monitor to monitor. Any white spots on image are reflections from camera flash. Items have often been used for many years and can have normal signs of aging or handling, and gilt can have signs of slight disintegration even if never handled. I will reflect any damages, repairs, obvious stress marks, crazing or heavy wear in the item description but some minor scratches, nicks, stains and gilt disintegration can be normal for vintage items and need to be taken into account.
