Description: Get ready for colder weather with this trio of mugs by Churchill made in England with a pattern named Blackberry Trellis. They are an off white, with gentle swirls in the earthenware mugs, but smooth on the inside. The Blackberry Trellis pattern is so pretty, with blackberries ripening on a trellis with some of their blooms. You can use these mugs every day for your cup of coffee, tea, or hot chocolate, now that cooler weather is either here or coming soon. And with three of them, you can have friends over too! The mugs are about 3 & 5/8 inches tall, 3 & 3/8 inches in diameter and weigh 8 ounces. They hold 8 ounces, or 1 cup comfortably, so you have a bit of room for some whipped cream on top of some hot chocolate if you want! (The mugs actually hold 11 ounces to the very top of the mug). They are in excellent shape with no chips, cracks, or crazing. Actually they were not used at all but were stored away in a cabinet. The company that became Churchill started in 1795 when Sampson Bridgwood began making earthenware in Longton, one of the five towns of Stoke-on-Trent, England. In 1980, they began making vitrified ceramics for hospitality markets, and say that their Super Vitrified products are one of the strongest in the world. By 1984, they rebranded as Churchill with a lion logo. While other pottery companies have been faltering and disappearing, Churchill has been winning awards, opening showrooms, launching new products, and acquiring other companies and their products are still made in the heart of the potteries, Stoke-on-Trent in England.
