Each is double matted and ready for framing. All but one print includes the biographical flier on the back with the story of the myth that is portrayed. No frames are included in this auction. Artist/Studio: Bill Reid (1920-1998) Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. Master Haida artist, Bill Reid was born to an American Scotch-German father and a Native Canadian Haida mother. Inspired by the Haida culture Reid became an acclaimed designer, sculptor, carver, writer, goldsmith and Haida culture activist. In 2008 the Bill Reid Gallery of Northwest Coast Art was created highlighting his talent and Northwest Coast indigenous culture. Reid's best-known sculptures are The Spirit of Haida Gwaii (Black Canoe) at the Canadian Embassy in Washington, D.C., and the Spirit of Haida Gwaii (Jade Canoe) at the Vancouver International Airport. Condition: Very good, flat and clean, pre-owned vintage condition. These prints were found framed and protected under glass, but there are no frames included in this auction. We have removed these prints from their original frames due to frame surface wear and to provide shipping-cost savings. One print (Eagle and Frog) has a pale stain on the mat board's bottom left inside. This does not go through to the back. Please see last three photos. The heavy-duty brown cardboard backings from the original, discarded frames are flat and sturdy and will be included in our shipping process. Most of our items are estate finds and are in good to excellent used condition. Vintage, pre-owned items will not usually be in mint condition, but may show signs of age, use, or wear from being pre-owned and loved for many years.
