SK-25 Bearing CNC Aluminum Rail Linear Motion Shaft Support Series Slide 25mm Standard Copper Back Half Copper Back Half W/Driver Shelf The 25mm modules come with a copper diode mount, back half, spring, lens option and focus ring. The copper back half has a seat that presses directly up against the base of the 9mm laser diode to transfer heat from the base of the diode into the module with exceptional thermal efficiency which is required on the new generation high power laser diodes to maintain temperature extraction faster than it is being generated. Copper Driver Shelf back has the same basic design for contact with the base of the diode but it has been lengthened a few millimeters and has a pocket machined out to thermally mount a compact laser driver to. Pocket fits compact laser drivers like the Micro Flexdrive, SXD, LSDE500, ACS1500SE, ACS5500BU, ACS4500BU, ect...Here is an example on how I mount a one of the ASC type drivers specifically the an ACS4500BU to power the NUBM44-V2 which currently is the most powerful visible laser diode and be able to maintain a constant driver duty cycle so now all heat is managed thought the module from both the diode and driver. This is a 20mm revision but the shelf size and concept is the exact same. After pressing the diode in the diode mount, wiring leads to the diode tightly screw on the back half(as good as you can do screw on hand tight will be more than sufficient tools are not needed and can damage the surface of the module) Solder the leads from the module with the driver giving a about a half inch slack in the wire from the exit of the copper module to the pads on the laser driver. Then I use a thin thermal tape to ensure that there is no shorting between the driver and the shelf. Next I mix up some two part thermal expoxy. This is the arctic alumina 5G. Spread some on the bottom front area of the driver so as you push it in along the base it spreads out. Last keep some pressure on the driver but not excessive for about 3-5 minutes. I just hold it with my fingers as it gets a hold. Then for about another 5 minutes just lightly hold it so it does not move or the tension from the leads does not break it loose. After that let it sit for about 30 minutes and then you can test it out.:) Here is how ones looks all set up with a driver mounted in the shelf an mounted in one of the SK-25's that can then be bolted right into your end product. This one is an engraver unit with a SXD laser driver with TTL modulation I made. There also options to have each module come with one of the glass lenses I offer. Finally an option to add a diode press and press sleeve that guides the press keeping it perfectly center. You can just put in vice and go. Suggest not marring up the face of the diode mount using something that is flat vs the grip surface of the most vice have.
