Description: These are 2024 seeds and are wild grown native hazelnut nut seeds picked from our farms in southeast Kansas and southwest Missouri. These nuts are very drought tolerant once they are established as we do not water them after the first 2 years. They produced copius amounts of nuts in our very dry 2024 growing year. These are smaller than store-bought orchard grown hazelnuts and have a very good flavor and produce large quantities of nuts. They are great for eating, baking, cooking or for wildlife food plantings or living food plots. Deer and wild turkey absolutely love them! These are non GMO and 100% organically grown without any type of chemicals whatsoever and are watered 100% by rainwater from mother nature. We have found that these native hazelnuts require weeding and watering for the first 2 years of growth but once they are established, they will grow into a thick hedge or thicket and produce large quantities of nuts. Hazelnuts need cold stratification to germinate and we get roughly 50% germination rate from these. You will receive at least 25 nuts per order.
