Description: Penn Antique Restoration 22"x77.5" Antique Solid Wood Interior Closet Pantry Door w/2 Panels Handsome, antique, interior door salvaged from an old, hardware store in Wayne, PA. The door is made of solid Douglas fir or pine, and has 2 recessed (flat) panels on both sides. The door is painted on both sides. Today, "pine" is known as a cheap, weak, soft wood. New pine hewn from 10 - 20 year old trees doesn't have the same insect-resistant, rot-resistant, or even fire-resistant qualities that old pine, hewn from trees hundreds of years old has. Old pine is also much harder and stronger than young pine. Hardware: The door is not equipped with any hardware. However, we have a good selection of hardware to outfit it (check out our eBay store). * If you would like any of the hardware holes plugged with solid wood, please email us for a quote. Uneven Height: The door's height was unevenly cut by 1/2". The cuts were made most likely to compensate for a warped floor or sagging foundation. We could cut the door to an even height/width, cut it shorter/narrower, or even build it up to a larger size--message us for a quote. Condition: The door is strong, sturdy, and in great structural condition. It only has nicks and scratches, but no breaks, cracks, gouges, rot, warp, or any other serious issues. Most of the blemishes that it has will disappear after sanding, prior to refinishing or repainting, and whatever remains will be subtle, "character marks". Swing: The door was never outfitted with mortises for swing, because it was installed with surface-mount hinges. This allows you to install your hinges on either side, defining its swing. Modification: Do you want to replace the panels with glass, screen/mesh, or something else? We could modify the door to fit your opening or suite your needs. We could make a frame, trim or add to the height or width, reverse the swing, plug the hardware holes, etc. Email us with a small description of what you would like done, and we'll give you a quote.
