Description: 20th Century, French schooled Italian Artist, Aldo Paolucci (1941-2002), Signed, on lower left, this Fabulous Modernist Cityscape. It is an Original Oil on Canvas from the mid 1960's that is very much influenced by the French artist Jean Jamsen's (1920-2013) School of Art. It depicts a view of two arched bridges, spanning a river (the Seine?), and the city buildings (mansard roofs - Paris?) that line the waterway, at left. Lovely, layered palette knife technique highlight the delicate brushstrokes used. Lovely color palette employed - somewhat dark but rich and warm (autumn earth tones). Clear and sharp! Has a Mid Century Modern linear feel in areas! There is an identification card on back for C. Aldo but it was mistakenly applied to this piece. We have worked with this artist before and he is Italian, schooled and was active in France.2 1/2" Wide, Rounded Gold clad moulding includes a duplex linen liner (built up) and a painted (white) wood inner edge. It is likely that the frame is original to the piece.Canvas measures 18 X 22 and is in Very Good Vintage condition.Outside measure of the frame is 22 1/4 X 26 1/4 and is in Good Vintage condition w/ minor signs of handling.Please carefully examine all images for condition.
