Andrew Karam, from an online source: Summary of Experience: Dr. Karam has 40 years of radiation safety experience, beginning with eight years of service in the US Navy’s nuclear power program in the 1980s. After leaving the Navy, Andrew attended school at the Ohio State University, earning a BA and MS in Geological Sciences and a PhD in Environmental Science; his thesis and dissertation projects involved modeling the manner in which natural background radiation levels have changed over the history of the Earth. In all he has authored nearly 40 peer-reviewed publications and recently finished writing a book on radiological and nuclear terrorism that will be published by Springer in 2021. He is also board-certified by the American Board of Health Physics and is a Fellow of the Health Physics Society." On Peter Zimmerman, to whom this book was inscribed: "Peter D. Zimmerman (1941-2021) was an American nuclear physicist, arms control expert, and former Chief Scientist of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. At his death, he was Emeritus Professor of Science and Security at King's College London. He graduated from Stanford in 1963 with a BS, a Filosofie Licentiat degree at Lund University in 1967 and a Ph.D from Stanford in 1969. All degrees are in experimental nuclear and elementary particle physics." The autograph of P. Andrew Karam has not been authenticated. I have been unable to find another example online but I purchased several signed books from the estate of Peter Zimmerman and I have every reason to believe it is authentic. The book is fully titled and subtitled, Radiological and Nuclear Terrorism : Their Science, Effects, Prevention, and Recovery. It is in NEAR FINE CONDITION. No dust jacket as released. Glossy boards pristine with no edge or corner wear. No further marks in 290 clean and solidly bound pages, with several color graphs, illustrations, and photos throughout. Cliff's Books B143
