The concave obverse was designed to look like the inside of a baseball glove while the convex reverse was modeled after a baseball. FIRST AND ONLY NON-PRECIOUS METAL CURVED COIN – This one-year-only clad half dollar represents the first and only time that a national mint has produced a domed or curved shape coin struck in non-precious metal.
