Description: 2012 American Eagle San Francisco Two Coin Silver Proof Set AND 2013 American Eagle West Point Two Coin Silver Set in Original Government Packaging Up for sale are two coin (each set) silver eagle sets from 2012 and 2013. These are stunning coins in their original mint packaging undisturbed since the coins left their respective mints in 2012 and 2013. Combined the two sets contain 4 1 troy ounce silver eagles, 3 of which were only available to purchase through these sets. In 2012 the mint issued a two coin silver eagle set that contained a traditional proof silver eagle struck in San Francisco and a reverse proof silver eagle also struck in San Francisco. The traditional proof “S” silver eagle was also available for sale individually, however the reverse proof “S” silver eagle could only have been purchased by buying this set. The sets were only available for purchase for four weeks in mid-2012 and the final mintage was about 225,000 making this set relatively scarce. In 2013 the mint also issued a two coin silver eagle set but this one contained coins minted from the West Point mint. The two silver eagles in the 2013 special set included a 2013 Reverse Proof struck at West Point and an Enhanced Uncirculated coin struck also struck at West Point that has proof like characteristics. Unlike the 2012 set that contained one coin that could be purchased separately outside of the set, the 2013 set contained two coins that could only be purchased by purchasing this set. This made the set even more sought after in 2013 than the popular 2012 set. The mint also only sold this set for one month to order. With the two unique coins in this set more sets sold in 2013 than 2012 (281,310), however the sets are still relatively scarce and even with the higher mintage because there are two unique silver eagles in this set the 2013 set is more highly sought after than the 2012 set. Both sets contain stunningly beautiful coins.
