Description: Up for sale is my 2007 Porsche 911 twin turbo. I have had the privilege of owning this car for over 6 years. At times it has been a daily driver, at other times, it has been driven less and was a fun car. While most know the 996 and early 997’s suffered from IMS bearing failure and bore scoring, the Turbo model was not affected by these issues. It has it’s own issues. The first was the cooling system. The epoxy Porsche used failed over time resulting in a Turbo losing all it’s coolant in literally 2 seconds. Every 997 Turbo cooling system will fail at some time due to this. The repair is to use different epoxy, gnarl and then pin the coolant pipes. Mine has had this done. The second issue is that the variable cam system to spin out of position. The repair is to pull the camshafts and have them pinned in the correct position and then have them reinstalled. Mine has also had this repair. With both these repairs done, this 997 Turbo has had the main issues taken care of, so these things will never fail with the new owner. The 997 Turbo is mostly stock except for one thing. The clutch was, in most opinions, bad. It used a hydraulic system than utilized the power steering pump to take pressure off the clutch. This made a mushy clutch that was hard to operate. I did a BBi slave valve and GT2 spring conversion on the clutch. It made all the difference in the world. Buttery smooth with a light, but precise feel. Made all the difference in the car. Mine is pretty much stock after the clutch conversion. In the last 1000 miles, I have had motor mounts, transmission mounts, clutch and other parts replaced. Tires are Michelin Pilot Sport 4s with less than 1000 miles on them. This car is somewhat rare as it is only 1 of 14 997 Turbos with the Makassar package and tan gauges. I only used Lexol on the amazing leather in the interior. For trim and plastic, I only used Chemical Guys Silk Protectant. Everything works and the interior shows very little sign of wear. In the trunk, you will find the original navigation system and original Porsche 6 Cd changer The exterior Basalt Black Metallic paint looks amazing and is ceramic coated with 3M ceramic coat. The car turns heads everywhere I drive it! The wheels are powder coated black, matching the paint. I have all service record since I owned it, the original owners manual and all the tools that go with it. It currently has just under 58,000 miles. This 997 Turbo is ready to give the next owner years of enjoyment.
