Description: 20 ROOTED English Ivy Cuttings 10"- 15" Hedera Helix Vines Groundcover Live Plants - You will receive 20 Rooted English Ivy vines that are ready for planting, all of which measure anywhere in between 10 inches to 15 inches in lengths. They will ship with a little bit of wet soil around their base roots, which will be wrapped in plastic. * Once received, I recommend placing the roots in filtered/purified water for a couple of days, in order to de-stress and rehydrate the vines before planting. ABOUT - According to NASA, English Ivy is one of the TOP 10 AIR PURIFYING PLANTS. - English Ivy originally came over from England, establishing a sense of elegance in the corners of yards and houses that other plants just don't have the ability to do. - Once established, English Ivy is basically care free. If it trails a little further than you would like, just cut it back. *** To conserve paper, I don’t include printed planting instructions in orders, so please refer to the online instructions below. *** PLANTING INSTRUCTIONS (1) After soaking the roots in filtered/purified water for a couple of days, choose a cool shady spot, and plant the rooted ends in nutrient-rich soil. Make sure to cover the cut ends of the stems and roots with soil. Ivy is an opportunistic grower, as it’s capable of growing roots from many areas of its stem, as long as soil is in contact with it. If you would like the ivy to cover more ground and grow faster, lay the vines down on top of the soil, and lightly cover portions of the stem with soil. * Though not necessary, you can prune some of the lower leaves off in order to direct the plants' energy into developing new growth faster. (2) Make sure to water daily, or enough to keep the soil consistently moist at all times. This is especially important during the first several months, as the ivy needs to acclimate to its environment in order to eventually establish new growth and root into the soil. (3) Once your ivy is well-established and rooted into the soil, it won’t need nearly as much care, and it will be very resistant to weather extremes. Feel free to expose it to full sun, heat and cold, within limits, of course. Prune ivy often, as it spreads quickly and becomes invasive if not maintained. GUARANTEED DELIVERY OF LIVING PLANTS - I do everything within my power to guarantee living plants on arrival. However, occasionally, the USPS will significantly delay a delivery or mishandle a package, which may lead the plants to arrive in poor condition. If the plants are dead upon arrival, or severely damaged, please contact me within a few hours of delivery, and send me a clear picture(s) of the plants, and I will offer you the choice of either a full refund or a free replacement. QUESTIONS OR CONCERNS - If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to bring them to me. I am very receptive, and I try to provide as much help and knowledge to my customers as possible. PACKAGING AND UNWRAPPING: - Please make sure you unwrap your ivy as soon as you receive it. They will be tightly wrapped in plastic and tape, so I suggest using something sharp, like a box cutter to gently slice through the tape. Some leaf loss/damage may occur. This is normal and won’t hurt the ivy. - To keep shipping costs low, I bundle the ivy vines and place their base roots in a plastic bag filled with some wet soil, which is then secured tightly with tape. Then, I thoroughly wet the ivy vines with water, and I wrap them tightly in plastic, which I secure with tape. After that, I package them in a cardboard box that I tailor make to fit around the wrapped ivy bundle. ECO-FRIENDLY: I USE RECYCLED PACKAGING FOR ALL OF MY PLANT ORDERS. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ COMBINED SHIPPING U.S. ORDERS - If you wish to combine shipping on multiple listings, please request an invoice at checkout. *If you don't want to request an invoice, you can send me a list of your items before purchasing them, and I'll arrange them into a single combined shipping listing for you to click on and purchase. - Thanks for stopping by The Velvet Begonia!
