Description: Two identical Antique Phillipines basket called (hood) Tudung . From Ifugao region. Used in parts of Luzon to carry rice or other items, and is also used as a rain cape when worn over the head. The thick water proof layers are made of layers of native pandanus leaves sandwiched between inner and outer frameworks of rattan. These items are from the early 20th century and one of these can be viewed at the Fowler Museum at UCLA in Los Angeles. A very unique and special piece. The basket measures 30” along curve top to bottom. 19” at width and over 7” deep.
