Description: Here are two original Book Illustrations one measuring 5 1/2 in. X 7 3/4 in.; and the other 5 1/2 in. x 6 3/4 in. Both are in very good vintage condition. They are not dated though I believe they were created in the 1950s. The artist, Valerie (Ole) Swenson, signed one with her pen name, Ole, and the other is not signed, though both are from the same collection. Valerie (Ole) Swenson is an American Postwar & Contemporary artist who was born in 1907.She wrote and illustrated many books about nature and also created many fine paintings and prints - woodblocks and silkscreens. Swenson, while born in Kansas City, MO, she worked in the Hudson Valley and lived in Shandhaken NY. Following her death I was able purchase a large assortment of her artwork.
