Description: I have here 2 Montana Waterline Agate Rough Lapidary Slab that I recently cut for sale. Montana Moss Agates formed as a result of volcanic activity in the Yellowstone area. Silica rich groundwater running through the region deposited silica in voids of igneous rock and fallen trees. The reaction of manganese left over from volcanic activity and the silica rich solution from the ground water created the black and brown dendritic patterns found in Montana Agate. This process created the Montana Moss Agates that are found today. Over time the Yellowstone river carried the agates away from Yellowstone National Park and are now most commonly found on the banks of the river in eastern Montana. The main colors in the slabs are white, brown, and black. Listing comes with both slabs. The dimensions of slab 1 are 3.6"x 1.5"x .26"-.14" The weight is 40 grams. The dimensions of slab 2 are 3.2"x 1.73"x .25"-.19" The weight is 41 grams. The combined weight is 82 grams.
