Description: I am offering two books from my former Pottsville/Schuylkill Co. collection, both personally autographed by the famous Pearl Bailey. Pearl's career began on Pottsville's Minersville St. back in the 30's which was known as the red light district. Pearl writes about the girls jumped on the running boards of the cars driving up Minersville St. to catch their tricks and the Mayor (Claude Lord) "being into everything, a real swinger". This 206 page autographed book is Pearl's autobiography and is one you don't want to miss if you are a local collector who wants to have it all. In this book, Pearl covers her entire career up to 1968. This book is in fine condition and very clean. The front end board and page exhibit toning. The second book by Pearl, published in 1975, is entitled Duey's Tale and also by her!!! 59 pages, this book is about a maple seedling that becomes separated from his mother's tree, makes friends with a bottle and a log, and searches for his own place in life. These two books cannot be replaced by reprints like most of the Schuylkill books have since they are both personally autographed by the late Pearl Bailey. I am offering both books for one low price. Note: the USPS has raised media mail prices as of July 2024
