ERA: Art Deco (1920-35) DETAILS: ~ (2) 1920s Art Deco Era Prints (Lithos?) with lovely, vibrant colors! ~ Both sit in Wooden Frames behind Glass ~ (a) George Buzza Motto Type with Maurine Hathaway "Mother" poem; Born in 1883, Hathaway was known as the "Poetess of the Pines." She hailed from Nebraska and later, Minneapolis, and published at least 4 books from 1910 to 1922. These Buzza-Motto type lithographs were very popular in their day! ~ (b) Very Rare "Teatime in Wonderland" by Henry Hintermeister; The title appears in the bottom right, but the backing is loose allowing the glass to slide up and down. I didn't realize until editing that it had slipped downward when I shot it causing the title to be obscured, but rest assured, it is there. Henry "Hy" Hintermeister was a prolific painter and illustrator born in New York 1897. He began his career in 1914 and his earliest works featured images of family, women and children, dogs, horses, and recreation. The public adored his Americana storytelling style (much like they did Norman Rockwell's) and this darling is a prime example as to why. ~ No worries...I'll pack your box like it's going to be dropped!~ Please see my Store Decor>Prints/Lithos category for more. CONDITION: Both prints are in very good Antique condition. The Frames show varying degrees of age related wear as indicated in photos. The Hathaway is tight in its frame and still has its store paper backing while the other does not. As mentioned above, the Hintermeister is loose and should be secured at some point.
