$2 Face Value Silver "War" Nickel Roll 40 coins circulated

Description: $2 Face Value (40 coin) roll of Jefferson "War" nickels. Because nickel was so important for the war effort, beginning in October 1942, nickel content was reduced and replaced by silver. As they were originally meant to be reclaimed and melted down after the war, a change in mint mark size and location was used on all of these nickels. This resulted for the first time ever, a Philadelphia minted coin had a "P" mint mark placed on a coin, above the dome of Monticello on the coin's reverse. All coins are circulated, and are struck on 35% silver planchets. Coins will come in a square plastic coin tube. Please study the pictures as these are representative of the coins you will receive.
