Walker - Apr 1978. Collected live 30 feet in rocks - Jun 1975. Good specimen with beautiful color and pattern. There is a small hole in spire and heeled scar on whirl. This is part of our late father's large collection of seashells he obtained while stationed on Okinawa, Japan in 1974-1978. He was an avid scuba diver and seashell collector. My sister and I were his diving buddies. Each with a Hawaiian backpack that he made for all of us, we would wear double 72s so that we could go down deep, usually 100-140 feet. The long decompression times were spent looking in every nook and cranny of the coral wall at various depths. His interests in shells grew from more than the Indo-Pacific species when he engaged in trading his shells with some of the prominent collectors around the world. Ted's shells have been thoughtfully stored for the past 50 years and are in excellent condition. My sister and I are listing shells after researching them for quality and uniqueness.
